Salem CS Families The ISDH has determined Washington County as a “Red” County per Covid spread and positivity rates. We will continue to operate with in-person instruction as allowed by the Washington County Health Department for grades K-12. We will continue to monitor the needs of our students and staff. If we are unable to continue in-person education due to guidance from the WCHD or staffing we will send further communication. If staffing becomes an issue, then this could present a problem for our continued in-person instruction. We appreciate your support and understanding during these difficult times.

The WCHD is allowing us 25% capacity at our events following established protocols. Tomorrow night we will sell tickets at the door for the girls BB game. This will remain in effect as long as county is in Orange. We will be moving to on-line ticket purchasing in near future.

Salem School Families, We have officially reached winter weather season and recognition that snow and frigid temperatures are a possibility. Because of SCS investment in technology, traditional snow days will become Remote Learning days; with instruction being virtual or through arranged options. SCS understands the decision to remain open or move to Remote Learning has a substantial impact on families. We will make every effort to inform our families the night before. Due to the timing of inclement weather, some decisions may need to be made early in the morning. I want to assure our families that the safety of our students is our first priority. Factors that determine in person, delays or remote learning include road conditions, temperatures, visibility, accumulating/blowing snow, forecasts and shared reports with surrounding school districts. Although this decision will be made with the best of intentions, it is an imperfect due to the unpredictable weather in Indiana! If we use a two hour delay or move to Remote Learning, families will be contacted through our automated calling system. Messages will also be posted to SCS social media, corporation website and information shared with local TV and radio. SHS Prosser students only: we will have no AM buses if SCS is on a two-hour delay or using remote learning. Any time there is severe weather and our schools are open and you do not feel conditions are safe for your child, we respect your decision to keep him/her at home, but we do request that you contact the school building to let them know of your decision.

Boys Basketball schedule change for tomorrow: Due to Mt. Vernon being quarantined the boys will not be playing them tomorrow. Salem will now play Evansville Day at 1:00 EST instead of Mt. Vernon. We will then play Tell City @ Tell City at 6:00 EST. The Evansville game is limited capacity and tickets are being distributed to players for their families. The Tell City game is 650 capacity so there should be plenty of tickets at the door. $5 each. The 2nd game will also be livestreamed. It will be streamed on their Facebook page "Tell City Marksmen Athletics".
